An airline strategist and economist, Ricardo holds a Doctorate (PhD) in Air Transport, an MBA in International Aviation from Concordia University in Montreal and a Master of Science in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University, Cranfield, UK as well as a Bachelor of Science in International Management.


Dr. Pilon has been associated with the Revenue Management Training Group and RM Expertise since 2003.

Ricardo is the proprietary founder and Chairman of Avia-Invest Holdings, Inc., a parent company that is engaged in airline and commercial aviation-related investments. He is also the President & Managing Director at one of its operating subsidiaries, i.e. Millennium Aviation, Inc.

With 17 years of practitioner airline management experience at various organizational levels varying from management to senior management, including board-level advisory work, Ricardo has worked in strategic planning, organization/governance, revenue management and pricing, marketing, distribution, network, and product planning in both passenger services and air cargo management.

As a certified IATA Facilitator and IATA Industry Consultant, he has developed training courses for the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) and was a Professor at the International Aviation MBA at Concordia University in Montreal as well as at the Aviation MBA at B.U.A.A. University in Beijing, PRC between 2000 and 2008. He has also taught at the Emirates Aviation College.

Ricardo is a regular speaker at international conferences such as the events organized by IATA, Marcus Evans, eConference, eyefortravel, and AGIFORS in a variety of areas including pricing, revenue management, cargo, and strategic planning. In November 2008, he was appointed Co-Chair AGIFORS Cargo for 2009-2011.

Ricardo has previously published articles in Canadian Business, the Journal of Air Transport Management, brandchannel.com, Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management, as well as numerous industry WhitePapers. He is currently completing work on his new publication on sustainable innovation in the airline business, entitled "Deep Blue - Hybrid Strategy and Segmentation in Aviation".
